Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to define the parameters within which Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) faculty members may engage in political activity.
Scope:
This policy applies to all full-time faculty members.
Policy:
Employees may engage in political activity including political campaigns as a candidate for public office or in support of a candidate for public office. Before becoming a candidate for public office, an employee must discuss the decision with the President to determine the impact of such a decision on the employee’s ability to continue to fulfill their contractual obligations to the College. Any political activity must reflect the individual employee’s personal views and must in no way suggest or imply that the employee is representing the College or that the employee’s political views are those of the College.

All full-time faculty members are expected to comply with this policy.
