Purpose:
It is the policy of Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) to establish a procedure to ensure that on-the-job injuries and illnesses are covered by worker’s compensation insurance.
Scope:
This policy applies to all DSCC employees.
Policy:
In the event of an on-the-job injury or illness which requires treatment by a physician or hospital confinement, the employee is covered by worker’s compensation with the State of Tennessee. The employee’s supervisor should complete and submit a First Report of Injury form to Human Resources. The employee should contact the worker’s compensation carrier and speak with a nurse representative to get treatment advice. If medical treatment is required, the carrier will give the employee a list of approved providers in their area.
Compliance:
All Dyersburg State Community College employees are expected to adhere to this policy.
